New Year begins with positive housing market indicators

The Northeast Tennessee and Tri-Cities region housing market began the new year with most indicators in the positive column.

Sales were are a record level for the 21st straight month.

The January average sales price saw a good year-over-year bump while the longer-term trend picture points to a continuation of moderate price gains.

New pending sales and total pending sales are well above the totals for January last year.

New listings have increased for the past three months, but only enough to keep the tight inventory status quo.

The full January Trends Report with city and county market snapshots can be found on the Trends Page.

An update on new pending sales will be filed on the Trends Page during the last week of the month.
