Erwin/Unicoi home sales were up 16.5% in 2015. It was a strong come back from a 1.8% loss in 2014. Last year’s average price performance was the opposite. After a 20.7% increase in 2104, the average was down 6.6% in 2015. Closings on single-family previously owned county homes compared to 2014 were: 127, up16.5%. Carter County was the hot local housing market in 2015; Elizabethton sales up 8.1%.%. Greene County home sales in 2015 were 3.7% better than they were in 2014. It was also the third straight year sales have been positive and better than they were before the recession. Last month was the strongest January since 2008 for home sales in the 11-county region monitored by the Northeast Tennessee Association of Realtors Trends Report.
