Safety Month-Self-Defense class provided by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office

September 21, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Self-defense class provided by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office!

Course Description- 3-4HR Class Not For CE

This is an entry-level self-defense course that requires no previous training. Chris Farmer will discuss situational awareness, and the impact awareness has on you and a potential assailant. Since physical force is a last resort, he will show you alternative means to de-escalate a situation by either confronting an attacker or diffusing a situation. Once a situation becomes physical, the goal is to escape the threat as quickly and efficiently as possible. We will discuss responses to different threat situations. Many of the techniques taught require very little force.

  • How to de-escalate a potentially dangerous situation.
  • How to respond to low, medium, and high-threat situations.
  • Unconventional self-defense techniques
  • Class discussions/questions

Open to all Realtors, women and men! All fitness levels are welcome (nothing too strenuous). Make sure you wear comfortable shoes/clothes!
