Course Objective

- Leadership Models
- Three types of associations: Administrative, Management, and Leadership, each with varying staff structures and decision-making authority.
- Administrative associations have small staff and high volunteer involvement; Management associations have defined roles and strategic focus; Leadership associations implement innovative programs with empowered staff.
- Governance and Legal Duties
- Board of Directors (BOD) must adhere to fiduciary duties, including loyalty, confidentiality, and reasonable care.
- Legal obligations include anti-trust laws, harassment policies, and conflict of interest disclosures.
- Meeting Management
- Effective meetings require clear agendas, defined roles, and adherence to Robert’s Rules of Order.
- Virtual meetings should have protocols for security, participation, and confidentiality, with strict policies against recording.

Adorna currently owns and runs 3 real estate related businesses and has had a personal team for over 25 years. She is the CEO and President of Dynamic Directions, Inc., that has an extensive faculty of international consultants, speakers and trainers.
Adorna is recognized as a national authority on Agency Relationships, is an association management consultant and is one of the premier real estate association strategic planning facilitators.
Adorna is the author of the “Leadership Puzzle” which has a team of proven leaders that have been delivering the program internationally to State and Local Real Estate Associations to prepare volunteers for their leadership journey.
She has also authored numerous residential designation and certification courses for the NAR and REBI – Real Estate Business Institute – specifically the SRS – Seller Representative Specialist; RENE- Real Estate Negotiating Expert; several courses for the CRB Designation and C-RETS Certification; the original 4 courses for the Women’s Council of REALTORS PMN credential.
Adorna was the State President for the CT Realtors® in 1997; an NAR Region 1 VP in 2001, an NAR Liaison in 2002, 2003, and 2007, the 2005 NAR VP & Liaison to Committees, and NAR’s Chief Political Fundraiser in 2006.
She was also the national President of NAR’s REBI – Real Estate Business Institute in 2016. Adorna is a $50+K member of the RPAC Hall of Fame, the REBAC Hall of Fame, the and is the 79th recipient of NAR’s Distinguished Service Award. Adorna has a BA Degree in Philosophy and has been awarded five Who’s Who awards beginning with “Who’s Who of American Women”, “Finance and Industry”, “Emerging Leaders”, “Who’s Who in the East” and “Who’s Who in America.
